It's been almost a year since the producers of The Hurt Locker filed a lawsuit against 5,000 alleged pirates suspected of distributing the film via BitTorrent.
Now Voltage Pictures has updated its complaint, adding almost 20,000 IP
addresses to the list of defendants. That makes it the largest
file-sharing lawsuit of all time -- a crown previously held by the company behind The Expendables, according to Wired.
The plaintiff has already reached agreements with Charter and Verizon
to identify individual users, but no such deal with Comcast, who owns
nearly half the supposedly infringing addresses. Linking those addresses
with user accounts would let Voltage manage individual settlements --
probably somewhere between $1,000-$2,000 -- rather than continue legal
action. All of this eerily echoes the Oscar-winning film's plot, about
an adrenaline junkie who couldn't resist downloading just one more movie. Or defusing one more bomb. We're a little fuzzy on the details, but venture into TorrentFreak to scan for familiar IP addresses.

on YouTube). The dual LED flash
also helps take photos and
videos in the dark, if you need.

GB of ROM for the OS and apps,
8 GB of internal Flash memory
AND a micro SD card slot, for up

they also plan on watching HD
videos all the time
.
The standard battery has a
rated talk time of about 7
hours on 3G networks, which is
about average, but may not be
enough for business users who
often work much more than
that and don ' t have the time to
charge the battery often. For
that purpose, there is an
official extended battery of
1860 mAh, which should
provide enough power to make
the device last at least 10 hours
of continuous use.

in the US on Verizon

at around $160 with a contract,
and it
' s also coming to Europe

Google’s New Android “Test Market” Leaked Accidentally
New Music App Stock Android Music Player 3.0
The people who run the blog Tech from 10, recently received an unexpected present from Google on their Galaxy S Vibrant. A new Android Market app, which they dubbed the “Test Market”, which they assume is used by Android developers.
The interface was generally the same, but there were a lot of new things to be found. Firstly, there is a new “Content Rating” section for applications, which showed that apps will now be receiving ratings similar to the ones games receive by the ESRB. Screenshots show that there will be an “Everyone” category, but not all of the categories are known yet.
New apps were also found in this “Test Market” including a new 3.0 version of the stock Android Music app, Google Gallery 3D, Camera v12, and Desk Clock 10. The only thing that could be installed, however, was the new Music 3.0 app, which showed off a new interface similar to the redesign of the Gallery app that Android got with version 2.1. It is very similar to the Music app that is currently shipping on Honeycomb tablets, and even comes with support for Google’s upcoming cloud music service, which was inaccessible to the reviewers.
The music app update will come long awaited, as an increasing amount of 3rd-party apps have surfaced due to the lack of features of the current stock app. It will be interesting to see just how far away the release of these new, updated app is.
Release Of Honeycomb Tablets Delayed As Xoom Falters

The recent underwhelming sales performance of the Motorola Xoom has several Android tablet manufacturers delay the release of their models. Asus has announced that it will delay the release of the Eee Pad Transformer while HTC has not scheduled a volume production on its HTC Flyer.
The Xoom which was expected to give Apple’s iPad a run for its money suffers from weak sales mainly due to not meeting customer expectations. The Android 3.0 Honeycomb platform still suffers from unstable performance issues and its application library is still limited.
The early entry of the Xoom and its market results has served as a guide for other manufacturers in planning their tablet releases.
Despite having excellent sales record in the smartphone market, the Android platform is still struggling in the tablet scene which is clearly dominated by the iPad. If Google’s tablet platform remains unchanged then manufacturers might opt to use other platforms.

OTTAWA — Prime Minister
Stephen Harper's new cabinet
includes nine new faces, a pair
of snubs and several big
promotions, particularly among
the Conservatives' small
Quebec contingent.
The government revealed
Wednesday morning at a
ceremony at Rideau Hall that
the cabinet will comprise 38
ministers, including 26 with full
portfolios, a new associate
minister of defence, 11
ministers of state and just 10
women.
Harper told reporters his new
cabinet represents every region
of the country and is a good
mix of experience and new
blood.
"The new cabinet is an example
of stability and continuity," he
said.
"Any hockey coach can tell you
that for a team to continue to
win it must have a nucleus of
veterans and then gradually
add in new talent."
Among the Quebecers, Christian
Paradis will become Canada's
new industry minister, while
Denis Lebel is being promoted
to transport minister. Stephen
Blaney will be the new veterans
affairs minister.
Former minister of state for
transport Rob Merrifield and
ex-minister of state for small
business and tourism Rob
Moore were both dropped from
cabinet.
Meanwhile, in an expected but
nonetheless major
appointment, John Baird was
named the new minister of
foreign affairs.
Tony Clement will run Treasury
Board, while Jim Flaherty
remains at finance, and will
deliver the government's next
budget.
Peter Kent stays on as
environment minister and John
Duncan will remain in charge of
Indian and Northern Affairs,
however his department has
been rebranded as Aboriginal
Affairs and Northern
Development.
Bev Oda, to the suprise of
some, will remain the minister
for the Canadian International
Development Agency. Oda ran
into controversy for altering a
funding document for a non-
government organization
during her recent tenure.
Rob Nicholson retains his
portfolio as justice minister.
Peter MacKay will remain in the
defence portfolio as Canada
faces key decisions about its
military mission in Libya, while
Julian Fantino was named
associate minister of national
defense.
Peter Van Loan, known for his
combative style, was moved
from international trade and
will become government House
leader.
Vic Toews will stay on as public
safety minister, while Leona
Aglukkaq will continue in her
role as health minister as the
government begins
negotiations with the provinces
on a new health accord.
Jason Kenney will stay on as
citizenship and immigration
minister, Lisa Raitt retains the
labour portfolio, while Gordon
O'Connor keeps his job as the
government whip.
Also hanging on to their posts
were Diane Finley, who is the
human resources and skills
development minister, and
Rona Ambrose, who will stick
with the public works and
status of women file.
Gail Shea swapped portfolios
with Keith Ashfield. She is now
Canada's revenue minister,
while Ashfield will take on
fisheries and oceans.
The cabinet also includes:
- Quebec's Maxime Bernier, who
was turfed from his foreign
affairs post in 2007 in the wake
of a scandal involving his then-
girlfriend, Julie Couillard. He
marks a comeback of sorts,
being named minister of state
for small business and tourism.
- Ed Fast, the MP for
Abbotsford, B.C., takes over at
international trade;
- Joe Oliver, who represents the
Toronto riding of Eglinton-
Lawrence, will tend to the
natural resources portfolio;
- Peter Penashue, from
Labrador, will handle
intergovernmental affairs;
- New Brunswick's Bernard
Valcourt was given
responsibility for the Atlantic
Canada Opportunities Agency
and the francophonie;
- Tim Uppal from Edmonton-
Sherwood Park, becomes the
new man in charge of
democratic reform;
- Alice Wong from Richmond,
B.C., was named minister for
state for seniors;
- Ontario's Bal Gosal became
minister of state for sport;
- Marjory LeBreton, leader of
the government in the Senate;
- Gerry Ritz, minister of
agriculture and agri-food;
- James Moore, minister of
Canadian heritage and official
languages;
- Diane Ablonczy, minister of
state of foreign affairs;
- Lynne Yelich, minister of state
(Western Economic
Diversification);
- Steven Fletcher, minister of
state (Transport);
- Gary Goodyear, minister of
State (Science and Technology);
and
- Ted Menzies, minister of State
(Finance).
Harper said the economy will
remain his government's top
priority, but that it will be
"hard at work" on all the
priorities outlined over the
course of the election,
including supporting seniors,
protecting health care and
fighting crime.
Harper said coming up with the
final roster for the cabinet was
no easy task.
"There are promising new MPs
and many veterans deserving a
promotion," he said. "I'm
confident that the team that
was just sworn in by his
Excellency the Governor General
is the right group of men and
women to keep Canada moving
forward toward greater
prosperity. It has strong
representation from all regions
and it will hit the ground
running."

we would spare it from further
scrutiny at Lenovo's UK launch
event this evening. We quite
naturally did no such thing,
poking and prodding at the
slimline laptop -- which still
feels supremely well built --
but we also went that one step
further, by putting it through a
trial we didn't dare subject our
review unit to: a
spill test . Well,
it was a less a spill and more of
a steady stream of water that
we doused the X1 in, which
might explain why it eventually
gave out and shut down on us.
Lenovo says that the keyboard
tray can only handle 25cl of
water before throwing a self-
protect switch and turning the
computer off. Given enough
time to fully dry out, our
unfortunate test subject might
even have been brought back
to life, but our efforts at
restoring it were met with
failure. You can see the H2O-
based carnage after the break,
though we should note that
Lenovo managed to perform
this test three times without
taking the X1 out of
commission... before we came
along and ruined its spotless
record.
